Testimonials The Buzz about our inaugural production The Pillowman

I expected a good play with good actors. What I got was far beyond that.
Watching The Pillowman from the front row was probably the best bad idea I've ever had. Everything in this show resonates horribly with some part of my life and work. Nothing about this show is comfortable for me. Nothing. It was fabulous…
This was not theater. This was really happening. I was there, in the room, while these horrible people interacted and destroyed one a nother and themselves.
I suspect that, if Katurian's stories had been acted in person, I would have seen them as theatrical, and so been able to creep back into disbelief. The choice to film them, however it was made, was a brilliantly effective way to keep the stories a projection (literally) of Katurian's reality, rather than anything "real" to the audience. We had to see them through him, or rather, we had to actually see him through them, colored by the images on the walls of his mind.
Technically superb and superbly effective. I love the space, it was a very captivating story, I love how you did the filmed scenes, and the acting was superb!
I've never been to a play that made me feel the range of emotion I felt at opening night.
